The Challenge

The world changed. People are yearning for personal connection and meeting in destinations that are unique and authentic. Prince George had never been more ready to take advantage, and to set a new ceiling for success. There was only one problem: Northern BC’s flagship meeting space was bleeding cash because of COVID. City Council wanted to shut it down and repurpose it.

Our Answer

Travel Local helped Tourism Prince George and the local business community save the Prince George Conference Centre with a plan that included innovative ideas, sales approaches, digital marketing, and operational efficiencies that would drive revenue, city-wide occupancy and make the local tourism industry a dominant player in the mid-tier business events market. Then, we volunteered to stay on and help behind the scenes to support the business community’s advocacy efforts, which saw the City back off plans to shut down its business tourism operations.
